Traci Evadne Currie has been in the education and communication field for over 20 years as a professor of Communication Studies, Theatre Teaching Artist, facilitator, program director and artist-activist. Her passion is fueled by the work she has done with youth in public schools and juvenile detention system, as well as the work she is currently doing with women in the prison system. Her focus is compassion-building that revolves around trauma and creating inclusive environments in various social spaces (i.e. work, family, community). Her degrees in Communication, Film and Media Studies allow her to cross a variety of disciplines and work both within a university system and outside of academia. As a writer and performing artist, she focuses her artistry in areas addressing social stigmas and social injustices, especially as it relates to gender roles, racism, sexism and xenophobia.
